Sex and the City Chris Noth Jessica Parker

After finally securing the lingering Kim Cattrall for the long awaited big screen adaptation of Sex and the City it looks like the cast is nearly complete. Chris Noth has signed on to reprise his role as Mr. Big, Samantha’s on again, off again love interest from the series. According to Reuters:

After weeks of speculation, Chris Noth has closed a deal to reprise his iconic character from “Sex and the City” in the upcoming feature based on the hit HBO series.

Production on the film — written by and to be directed by the series’ executive producer Michael Patrick King — is slated to begin in September in New York.

Noth stars on NBC’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” which also shoots in New York, and he will work on both projects simultaneously.

The series finale of “Sex” ended with Mr. Big flying to Paris to profess his love for Carrie (Parker) and bring her home to New York.

While I’m not a SatC fan I’ve always enjoyed Chris Noth from all the way back to his days on Law & Order. I’m surprised they hadn’t nailed him down for this sooner considering he apparently was a big part of the series and finale. So are any of you looking forward to seeing this?
