Get ready America because American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks, 17, has just signed a record contract with Jive Records. This contract will be in conjunction with the 19Recordings label which is managed by American Idol’s creator, Simon Fuller. Her album is set to follow in just a few months as reported by the Associated Press:
Her [Sparks] debut album is slated for release in November. She’ll offer a taste of the disc with her new single, “Tattoo,” to be released to radio stations Aug. 27.
“`American Idol’ has truly been a life-altering experience,” Sparks said in a statement. “I can’t wait to share this next chapter of my story with all the fans that have supported me so far.”
So Sparks’ album will be out in November, but her first single will hit the air waves in just a little over a week. I’m interested in seeing if this can catch her up to Blake Lewis who was ahead in the singles chart back in June.
