Big Brother 8

Wow, after such a great eviction episode last Thursday it’s time to find out who the Donatos will decide to nominate this week. We’ll find out if they hold up their half of the bargain they made with Eric and Jessica last week. As the show starts out Amber is of course an emotional disaster as she says she nows has nobody left in the game (Jameka says ‘thanks Amber’). She explains how she’s so confused and doesn’t know if she needs to start playing people or not. I think it’s a little late for that at this stage, but whatever works for ya Amber.

Speaking of going with whatever works for Amber let’s take a flashback to last week’s HoH competition. Amber details out her losing decision to help us understand her stupidity a little better. When asked about the number of cards on the Mad Hatter’s hat Amber says she knew the answer was six, but seven is her lucky number so she said True instead. So you knew the answer was False, but since you like the number seven better than six you decided to go with True. Amber is a complete and utter moron. There aren’t two sides to that argument.

It’s time to see Daniele’s HoH room. Before we go in there, has anyone noticed how disappointing these HoH rooms are this year? Last year there were color palette changes and furniture changes to suit the HoH of the week, but this year they just change the pictures. Weak. Okay, on to Daniele’s HoH room. Zach first notes that there weren’t any pictures of her boyfriend there this time around. Uh oh. But don’t worry, Daniele got a letter from an 11 year old girl that must be her biggest fan. Oh wait, nevermind, that pink and sparkly letter is from Nick and it makes Liberace look like a man’s man. Eric has some funny commentary about how absurd it is for Nick to make sparkle hearts and use pink highlighters. This makes me think Eric is going to get himself beat up at the finale show!

Okay, tonight’s show is great because we get more quirky character insights, which are always a fun part of the show each year. I still miss Eric from season 3 with his sleep talking bits, those were great. Tonight’s character study is Amber and her third grade level vocabulary. Here’s a quick run down of the words we find out that Amber doesn’t understand: charismatic, ridicule, superficial, integrity, back door (as in BB bait and switch game play), outed, sub-alliance, perceive, implication, peanut gallery (to be fair Jameka doesn’t know this one either). Now try to tell me she’s not an idiot. Seriously, I believe Amber is Forest Gump without the shrimp company or the track skills. I’m also willing to guess she buys her underwear at K-Mart and is a “very good driver, an excellent driver.” All of this gets a nice segue into a conversation with Eric where she explains she’ll now be “more stronger” following Dustin’s exit. Sigh.

Food Competition:
In the spirit of Beer Pong this week’s food competition is an over-sized set up of Slop Pong with barrels and volleyballs instead of cups and ping pong balls. Now that it’s been done on television I imagine this will start showing up at college parties, well big parties at least. This looks like a lot of fun as the house guests are all dressed up in togas as it’s supposed to be a college party. Despite a big lead in the beginning the blue team manages to just barely win by one barrel. Both teams secured the “Feast” barrel though during the game, which means both teams gets one big dinner party during the week. The losers this week in the food competition are: Amber, Jameka, Jen, and Daniele. This was really only a loss for half of that team as Jen is already stuck with Big Brother Slop due to her PoV win the other week and Daniele gets real food as HoH.

Returning from the food competition we find a big moment in BB8 has occurred. The big table has been replaced! The table is now about half the size of the original. In past seasons this table is usually replaced again when the group gets to half its current size. Not a big deal overall, but still a nice milestone for these house guests to make. We get a quick montage of those left behind, but as Eric’s shirt with the dinosaur says, “Never Forget.” Luckily only one of the departed will be returning for the jury pool.

America’s Player Assignment:

Eric has been instructed by America to get Amber nominated. This leads Eric to proclaim, “I love America.” He’s looking forward to sending Amber to the sit left open by Dustin’s departure. Quick to implement his task Eric heads to the HoH room to converse with Daniele and Dick. Everyone agrees that Amber has been floating for the past 47 days and it needs to end. Looks like this should be an easy one for Eric.

Wait though, because America’s Player isn’t off the hook yet. America now gets to vote on his next challenge. One of the remaining house guests will be on the receiving end of Eric’s childhood comfort toy, “Woobie”, which looks like a little stuffed animal. At first I was thinking Amber because everyone knows she’d probably start crying, but then I had a better idea. Think of how great it’d be for Eric to have to give Dick this little stuffed animal in an emotional exchange. So I’ve decided to vote in the direction. What do you think America? We could have some great BB8 moments here!

Nominations
It’s now time for Daniele’s nominations. This is the first time all season we’ve gotten a repeat HoH, so let’s see how she handles her second round. First up is Jessica’s key which Daniele explains is to show she didn’t take her nomination last week personally. This was a smart way to cover their new alliance. The keys continue: Jen, Dick, Zach, and Eric. This leaves the nominations as Amber and Jameka. Daniele details that she feels Amber and Jameka are too friendly with everyone and therefore would be very difficult to beat in the final two. There we have it. Watch out though as Daniele gives us a little insight with the note that her true target remains to be Jen!

BB8 Amber BB8 Jameka

Amber and Jameka take these nominations pretty well. Jameka says everything happens for a reason, so it’s alright. Amber on the other hand states that God has spoken to her. Yes, seriously, apparently God is not only a Big Brother fan but also a Big Brother 8 Amber fan. He must have missed her anti-semitic diatribe on how she dislikes Jews. “If everything pans out as God has told me it’s going to then I’m going to win Power of Veto… then Jameka and me will be in the final two.” I think Amber confuses religion with delusion. Oh I can’t wait for her to go home. I can’t stand Amber!!

I do agree with the editor. Just because this “idiot” Amber hears voices in her head does not constitute that to be GOD. They have a term for that and it is called scytsophrinia (or however it is spelled). I have said a long time ago this B**ch needs to be on medication. She has time after time proven this. It will be a personal satisfaction to see her go this week.
