Chef might be gone, but Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and Cartman aren’t anywhere close to being done with their foul-mouthed adventures. While The Daily Show and Colbert Report might be raking in the ratings these days South Park was still Comedy Central’s original cash cow . Wisely the network has decided to keep Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s 10 year old animated series around for another full 3 years with 42 episodes and the guys are pleased:
“South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker just became far wealthier under this deal. Don’t look for them to become part of the establishment. In a statement, Stone said: “Three more years of ‘South Park’ will give us the opportunity to offend that many more people. And since Trey and I are in charge of the digital side of ‘South Park,’ we can offend people on their cell phones, game consoles and computers, too. It’s all very exciting for us.”
What I like about South Park is that it hasn’t gone downhill like most shows that even come close to ten years. I’m looking forward to catching the new season.
