Owen Wilson

Following Owen Wilson’s alleged suicide attempt earlier this week the hospitalized movie star has announced plans to reduce his workload. The first change will be to withdraw from his current production, “Tropic Thunder” which began roughly six weeks ago. Owen’s role wasn’t set to come up for a few more weeks, so this shouldn’t influence the film too much though I’d think it’d be really tough to replace someone as good as him. “Tropic Thunder”, directed by Ben Stiller, is set to start Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. in the lead roles as actors who end up in the middle of a war. Um, okay. I’ll wait to judge on this one.

In an upcoming article in People magazine Owen Wilson is described to have “a little John Belushi in him”. Wilson has been in rehab at least twice in the past ten years with stays at Promises in Malibu and Hazelden in Minnesota. I’m hoping he can get through this and come back stronger than before. I’m not ready to see another Belushi or Farley on our hands here.
