Indiana Jones 4 Harrison Ford

Last month we found out a list of potential titles for the next Indiana Jones movie (notice I didn’t say “last Indy movie”) had been sent over to the MPAA. Well I thought for sure we’d get “Indiana Jones and the City of Gods” as it was the only one that sounded like a real title, but looks like I was wrong. IndianaJones.com now has the official title plastered across the header with the final decision being: “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Yeah, I’m not crazy about it as it sounds like a kiddie movie to me with the “crystal skull” part there. Ah well.

The title was announced on Sunday by the film’s young actor, Shia LaBeouf (Transformers, Disturbia), at the MTV VMAs (aka: Brit’s Ground Zero). I suspect they’re trying to push LaBeouf to the center of the stage on the publicity for this new movie as I believe he’ll be taking over the series. The rights have been secured for another three films following this one and I don’t think they’ll be able to get Ford back at that point, putting Shia in the lead. I’m kinda hoping they just decide to put those rights away in one of the crates and put up in the back of a warehouse next to the Ark.
