Last night we saw the inevitable eviction of Jameka following an impressive ten week stay in the house. I call it inevitable because week after week Jameka continued to be nominated for eviction and would then take a backseat to a higher priority. This was likely due to the fact she spent nearly half her time in the game with her HoH wings clipped, but we’ll get to that shortly. Jameka might not have been the strongest or loudest player in the game but she managed to dodge bullets and come out with her character mostly intact.
The interesting part about Jameka’s game was how her biggest mistake was what may have been her saving grace. I’m of course talking about her decision back in Week 5 during the Power of Veto competition when she opted to give up the next 5 HoH competitions in return for the chance to win a PoV that she didn’t even need and didn’t end up winning. Can you believe that? She was playing like her life was on the line but instead it was Eric who hung in the balance that week alongside Kail. So what caused her to play so hard for others? I think it was her overextended trust in her fellow housemates that was her next mistake.

Jameka really believed in her LNC-7 and made that huge commitment to them by giving up her HoH chances to help them. She constantly trusted those around her as the game continued. When Dick told Eric and Jessica they were going to send Jameka home E & J denied knowing it to Jameka and she believed them. Lots of people trusted others that they shouldn’t have in this game, but Jameka seemed to do it too much, not that it makes her a faulty person just that it cost her a lot of her game.
Jameka made too many game decisions based on group needs that hurt her while helping those around her. Now that’s something you don’t see too often in Big Brother. Sadly, I have to say that those were dumb decisions. There were just too many times this season where she stuck her neck out farther than it needed to go to help people that were ultimately going to be her competition. That could have even been okay for someone like Daniele who ended up winning 5 PoVs, but Jameka wasn’t winning anything. So Jameka closed her door but wasn’t able to open a window in the house. Ultimately that came down to ending her game last night when she let that PoV slip away.
I’m not knocking Jameka here as I look around and see the best conclusion I can come to on what killed her game is that she was too selfless along with a side of being a weak competitor. Being selfless is a fine characteristic to have, just not in the Big Brother house. Congratulations on making it so far though.
