Big Brother 8

Here we go, this is it. We’re down to the wire and so it’s time to see just which way the jury could go tomorrow night on the season finale of Big Brother 8. As we witnessed on Thursday, Zach has been evicted leaving Dick and Daniele Donato to divvy up a huge pool of earnings. Considering everyone in the sequester house feels they have been wronged one way or the other by the Donatos it should be funny to watch them weigh out this final decision. On your left you have a deceptive, sneaky, fire-charged Donato, and on your right you’ve got, um, another Donato. It really won’t matter too much to this jury which way the money goes as they’re likely to find little satisfaction in the award. Regardless of what they think at this point they’ll each have to make a choice and place a key accordingly. Let’s take a walk through all seven of the jury members and consider the possibilities.

These were surprisingly difficult to assess and predict as an isolated duo has never made it to the end, leaving everyone else as outsiders and agitated against the current state of events. Another potential boat rocking aspect of this situation is America’s Player as Eric will not only be told how to vote by will be told to influence the rest of the jury. I think it’s safe to say America will vote in favor of Dick over Daniele. Watch this carry heavily with the jury, many of which will be sympathetic to Eric’s words. All the same, I’ll try my best based on what I’ve seen all season and the tone set by the questions posed to both Dick and Daniele.

Amber: This choice may hurt Amber most of all as she constantly repeated that she wanted “good people” to win this game, which I always found humorously ironic. Amber didn’t get along with either of the Donatos, though she was an original member of the LNC-7, giving her at least a little of a connection to the pair. Now as far as preferring one of the two over the other is questionable for this emotional bundle of tears. I’d expect Amber to “go with the flow” and vote what the group thinks. If that’s the case then watch for Eric’s influence. I’ll put her in the pro-Dick column for now.

Evel Dick T-Shirt

Dustin: Whether he knows it now or not Dustin’s exit had more to do with Eric than it did Dick or Daniele. I’m guessing he won’t know that until he gets home and watches the replay. As such this vote will likely come down to who he feels has wronged him the most, which I would expect to be Dick. Don’t forget about the early morning wake up alarm with pots and pans either. These two had a rough last few days and time may have healed those wounds on top, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dustin vote for Daniele as the lesser of two evils.

Eric: Talk about an up and down, back and forth alliance. Eric went from Dick’s “adviser”, to alliance member, to the target of his patented verbal bombardments. However, out of anyone in this jury I think Eric recognizes great game play for great game play and will be able to set aside his feelings long enough to reward based on skill. Daniele has won more events and competitions than Dick, but Dick has been the standout between the pair and as such I believe he will earn Eric’s vote.

Free Feeds: You can now watch the online, uncensored Big Brother 8 live feeds for the rest of the season completely free (14 day free trial).

Jameka: Here’s another house guest that didn’t gel too well with Dick. ED has expressed how he’s anticipating introducing his mother to Jameka as, “my mother, the bitch,” at the wrap party. I think that was the only time all season we witnessed a truly angry Jameka and I doubt she’ll be so quick as to bury those feelings. Considering she didn’t have anything in particular against Daniele she’ll likely also consider this a “lesser” situation and vote against Dick.

Jen: I doubt anyone else in the house got along with Dick as poorly as Jen did. Granted, Jen was a full out obnoxious person, but the things that went on between the two of them seemed to far outweigh the necessity of the situation. We also heard Jen repeat during her stay that “other than her, Daniele was the best competitor.” This comment paired with the more than rough encounters with Dick make this an easy guess as I’m confident in Jen voting for Daniele to win.

Jessica: Before she was whisked away from the BB house Jessica was assured by Dick that she would safely remain. Jessica is likely to feel more betrayed by Dick than by Daniele. These two ladies were very comparable in their game skills and in-house romantic situations, but as the season went on I definitely found my preference for the two trading sides. The most important part to remember about Jessica’s vote is that she’ll be strongly influenced by her BB8-boyfriend. Therefore, I’m putting Jessica as a strong candidate to vote for Evel.

Zach: As things drew to the end Zach had to fight an impressive 7.5 hour endurance round against Dick and then stand against him again in a losing round of evictee questions. Tie that to Zach comments over and over about how well Dick played the game, despite his dislike for those winning tactics, and I think Dick has earned Zach’s respect more than Daniele managed to do so. Chalk up another one for Dick.

Last week I thought a final pair of Dick and Daniele would have assuredly resulted in a landslide in favor of Daniele. However, that’s changed the more I look at the situation and review the perceptions of these two over the questions posed to them by a rather, as usual, hostile jury. At this point I’d be willing place a wager on Dick’s success, though by a slim margin (4 - 3). He’s played a loud and nasty but bold game as season. I think Zach nailed it with his comment of (paraphrased) “I don’t like your tactics, but they work very well.” I shudder at the thought of being locked in a house for 2.5 months with someone like that, but intimidation was his sword and he wielded it impressively. The bullets started flying with Jen’s reign as HoH and didn’t stop until Zach walked out the door. Daniele may pout and stomp her feet that she had the harder time in this game, but I think that trophy goes to Dick. Never before has the “Old Guy” character may it this far, much less win it all. No matter who wins tomorrow night both of these players fought fiercely to remain in the game, stopping at nothing to be in the final spots. As long as they can live with it then I guess it was worth it. Congratulations to both.

Who cares — can’t stand either of them!

  2. Bruno

You’re still watching this rigged “reality” joke of a show?

  3. MAX

    REGARDING AMBER AND JAMEKA,
BOTH CONTESTANTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PENALIZED AT THE VERY LEAST FOR THEIR ANTI-SEMITIC REMARKS MADE DURING THE GAME.
TO LISTEN TO THEIR RELIGIOUS RANTS AND THEN TO THEIR ANTI-SEMITIC REMARKS IS TRULY DISCUSTING AND SHOWS THEIR OBVIOUS DISTAIN FOR THE TRUTH.

  4. Frannie Mac

Dick has played the GAME the best. (It is only a game)… I think the majority of the jury will vote for Dick. He represents everything I am against except his unconditional love for his daughter. You get what you see with Dick and one can live with what one can expect. I feel that outside of the house their bond of alliance will fracture sooner than later. Sucks for them…

  5. laura

and you’re still commenting on it?????

  6. disappointed

I am not sure if it was the BEST?!?! But it worked for him! You are right and it sucked for all of us to have to watch it all summer!!! It made me miss Dr. Will (ugh!)

  7. Buck Wabe

I don’t know why you would bother analyzing Eric’s motives in the game for the purpose of this article. Eric’s vote is America’s vote. He has no say.

  8. Matt

Yep, just like I pointed out at the start of the article. But it’s a lot more interesting to consider how he would vote than to just reiterate what I already said. Plus, it gave you something to complain about it. Bonus!

  9. BBnotgood

Yes…I agree…this years BB8 mad me miss Dr. Will so much!!! Dr. Evil doesn’t look so evil now does he? lol
He was still the best person this show has ever had…maybe next year they can find “Good people” to be on the show. lol

  10. Buck Wabe

But it will be interesting to see if he’s actually able to persuade any of the other’s who might have been inclined to vote Danielle.

  11. PASSTHERIPPLE

AMERICA’S VOTE MY ASS…THIS WAS THE “NETWORK”S VOTE

  12. PASSTHERIPPLE

AMERICA’ vote my ass, this was the “NETWORKS” vote

  13. bonnie

i would make sure before I voted that I didn’t want either one of them both suck

  14. Keep it simple

Danielle as much as said she would not share the money with Dick if she wins. But Dick would split it with Danielle. Would knowing this affect your vote??

  15. Alex

Dick should win. He was hardly the “most sophisticated” person, and at times I couldn’t watch his behaviour, but he did play the best game, (rigged or not) and that was what he needed to do to win. Hopefully he is a somewhat decent guy in his real life. Hate these “old guy” references, 44 is far from old.

  16. Danny

I am surprised that neither you nor any other commentator I have read has taken into account the “scorned woman” syndrome. This syndrome especially motivates Amber and possibly affects Jen as well. Amber and Jen really liked Nick, and Amber was extremely disappointed that Nick preferred Dani over her. Even the writer of the banner missed the point. True, Amber kept telling Nick that she loved him very much, while, while she campaigned for his eviction. But, Amber was not being dishonest. She truly lusted (“love” in Amberspeak) after Nick. She thought, in her twisted mind, that in evicting Nick, she was demonstrating her Christian love; that is, she was saving him from the clutches of that no-good, two-timing Jezebel, Dani. Dani complained about Amber’s questioning her about Dani’s personal life. I am not sure that Dani realized that her relationship with Nick (and to a lesser extent her attachment to her other boyfriend) was the source of Amber’s virulent anger towards the younger Donato. Amber may not want to vote for Dick, but there is no way she is voting for Dani. There is no wavering here. You can count Amber vote as being solidly for Dick.

  17. Matt

“Old Guy” only in the sense that he is more than twice the age of the youngest player, making him relatively old in this situation. 44 is certainly not old like 84 is old, but in the Big Brother world it’s a whole other demographic.

  18. Frannie Mac

The whole world (sic) misses Dr. Will and Company…

  19. Frannie Mac

It’s almost over, Zippity Doo Da Day…

  20. Frannie Mac

Ditto, being a spring chicken at 47.5 myself LOL
