Hey Matt, for your Death Proof movie review…Do you know why the second movie isn’t included with the DVD the way it was in the movie theater?

Following the disappointing performance of Grindhouse in the theaters, the studio considered releasing the two films independently overseas and on DVD. Looks like they went for it. The benefit for us is Death Proof was extended by ~30 mins, bringing it up to 2 hours from 1.5 in its theatrical release. The benefit for them is the chance to sell more copies by offering them individually.

I’m not sure when Planet Terror will be released on DVD, but I’d expect it to come soon after Death Proof. And don’t worry, I’m sure the studios will eventually release the original theatrical “combo’d” version of these two as well for the chance to sell a few more.

I’m looking forward to watching this one, but it’ll have to wait until tomorrow since tonight is the BB8 finale!
