Last week we lost the first of our Twelve Stars. Josie Maran and her partner Alec Mazo had the lowest combined score. I wasn’t convinced that Josie actually did that much worse than some of the other stars but since the fans didn’t step up to save her either, she probably should be going home.
Tonight, I am expecting great performances again by Sabrina & Mark and Helio and Julianne. These two couples were awesome last week and expect them to be strong throughout this season’s competition. I also think the Floyd & Karina will step it up and dramatically improve this week. You may remember that Apolo and Julianne had the same problem last season. Their first performance was not good at all. Then they came back strong the second week and ended up winning it all. Now mark Cuban on the other hand I do not have high hopes for. I really think that he will be another one of this seasons early casualties.
Wayne Newton is another dancer who could end up on the bubble tonight. Everyone loves him, he’s a great singer, a great entertainer, but to be honest, he’s no dancer. The judges will only be able to give him charity scores for so long before he’s at the bottom of the pile. I’m really pulling for Jennie Garth, I’ve had a little crush on her since her 90210 days so I hope she does well but, she is another one who is going to need to step it up if she wants to see her way into the second half of the season. Jane & Tony did an awesome job as well. Jane was elegant and graceful doing the Foxtrot but, I’ll be interested to see how she does with a dance that requires more energy and faster footwork. In my mind, the rest of the pack could go either way.
