After two straight weeks of losses in the Zhan Hu (Yellow Tribe) I’m wondering what it’s going to take to snap out of this slump. Following week #1’s loss the dysfunctional team tossed out their chicken farmer as the “safe” pick considering he stood out the most from the group. I considered that a dumb move since Chicken’s experiences could be a strength despite what he may have been lacking in speed or agility. Even after cutting what they thought was dead weight we witnessed yet another failure in the immunity challenge and this time it was worse than the first round. Issues are running even deeper than that here and the leadership is likely to blame. Dave may consider himself the leader in the tribe but he’s letting everyone around him down with his ego-centric versus team-centric approach. Not that Peih-Gee is a much better option considering all she seems to do is order others and stroke Dave’s ego. Clearly something needs to change quickly or this Yellow tribe’s submarine is going to just keep sinking.

There are just six members of the Yellow Tribe left, putting them at a two person disadvantage behind the red team. To make matters worse I don’t see anything strengths left behind following two weeks worth of cuts. Zhan Hu had hoped to eliminate the tension by sending home Ashley Massaro as it had to be either her or Dave. While Dave may be slightly stronger than Ashley, making him an understandable selection from that pair, I think the social issue was with Dave. So with Ashley gone I’m watching for him to just pick a new target to fight, which one though will be the surprising part.

Looking over at the apparently indestructible Red Tribe it seems that a few cracks may finally start to appear. Food will be an issue this week on both sides as Zhan Hu discovers they have moldy rice, but it’s over at the Red Tribe that tempers really flare. The capture of a single crab leads to a full out brawl over how to prepare this appetizer worth of food. If the Yellow Tribe has any smarts left they’ll try to capitalize on this event and stoke the flame as much as possible.

Host Probst has promised us a very physical set of competitions tonight and as such I’m not ready to predict a much delayed victory for Zhan Hu. Look to see a sex divided competition that leaves one of the guys naked in a Richard Hatch style of strategy and subsequently a cast where no one is the winner. Anyone want to bet it’s the ever useful Jean-Robert?
