Jumper

Doug Liman, fresh off his last piece of poo movie (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), seemingly wants to ride the wave of Heroes with this adaptation of a Steven Gould novel where “jumpers” can transport themselves through space and time. Yeah, it’s from a previously written book, but here you’ve got a guy that jump through space and time (Hiro) and finds out he’s not the only one with special powers (um, all the Heroes) and then he’s chased by an evil entity that wants to track and secure him (The Company). Anyways, you’ve got Hayden Christensen, who still can’t act, teamed up with Samuel L. Jackson, who will do anything but always seems to do it well, in what easily looks to be as entertaining as the last Amanda Bynes movie. However, throw in Rachel Bilson in underwear and you’ve got my attention, just don’t expect my $10.

Update: Okay, Liman also did The Bourne Identity, which I thoroughly enjoyed. So what’s with this?

The trailer for Jumper was just released today, so see what you think:

  1. Steven Gould

Just wanted to point out that this movie has been in development for years. The original book was published in 1992 and the first scripts were done before Heroes began airing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox Publicity takes advantage of the TV series but it’s not like they made this movie because of that series.
