Britney Spears

Following weeks of leaked tracks from Britney “Trainwreck” Spears’ new album, Blackout, her label has decided to release it 2 weeks early to thwart piracy. So now all three of you awaiting her album can be sure to line up on October 16th instead. Somehow the near-Halloween date just seemed more fitting. People.com says:

“Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30,” a rep for Jive Records says in a statement.

The label acknowledged that finished songs, as well as unfinished material and demos, had made their way online. For weeks, Britney tracks have been surfacing everywhere from PerezHilton.com to YouTube, though it’s been unclear which versions were the final, mastered tracks.

Hold up there Jive Records. Once you release the album you’ll completely lose the excuse of, “oh that sounds like crap because it wasn’t the final version.” Think about it.
