Dancing with the Stars

Yay! Samantha Harris is back tonight. That isn’t the only DWTS news this week. Last night Maksim and Cheryl Burke appeared on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition with Ty Pennington, inspiring the design team to create a dance themed room. Reports have come in from several of the tabloids that despite Mel B’s best efforts that Jane Seymour cannot stand her. Jane apparently didn’t care for her mud slinging attacks against Eddie Murphy. Also, if Mel and Maksim survive this weeks elimination, Maksim will be heading with Mel to London to appear in the Spice Girls new video. Oh yeh and we have performances tonight so lets get to it.

Mark Cuban & Kym Johnson
Dance: Viennese Waltz
I have to say this was Mark’s best performance so far. He was pretty light on his feet even though I did see him shuffle them once or twice. He kept his expressions from being too over the top. All of the judges thought he has improved. Bruno thought he lost the rhythm in a few places.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 22

Sabrina Bryan & Mark Ballas
Dance: Paso Doble
Brilliant. Awesome. I think Sabrina could have a career in professional ballroom dancing. That was absolutely fantastic. Bruno described it as, “Power, attack… you were like a little lynx.” Carrie Ann called it perfection. Len said he always tries to find something wrong with their performance and tonight he couldn’t find any.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 10
Len Goodman: 10
Bruno Tonioli: 10
Total: 30
The first perfect score of the season!

Jane Seymour & Tony Dovolani
Dance: Viennese Waltz
This was a dance designed for Jane. She is so light and smooth on her feet. They deserve another high score for this one. Carrie Ann described it as “Gorgeous,” but she thought they broke the rules because Jane’s feet left the floor. Len declared it a lift free zone. Bruno and Carrie Ann called Len on it. Len thought it was very good. Bruno called it, “Delicious… like the queen of the fairies.”
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 26

Floyd Mayweather & Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Paso Doble
Floyd and Karina came back strong. Floyd obviously wanted it really bad. It looked good to me. Len gave him credit for coming out and giving 100%, but sometimes that causes him to lose the technical aspects a little bit. Carrie Ann called them on another violation because Karina could not have done the lift on her own. All the judges agreed that this was a huge improvement.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 23

Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovsky
Dance: Viennese Waltz
I liked it. Bruno was swept away. Carrie Ann thought last week was better. Bruno violently disagreed. Len thought she was a revelation.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 26

Cameron Mathison & Edyta Sliwinska
Dance: Paso Doble
That was funny. They danced to the Superman theme which is how Bruno described Cameron earlier this season. Cameron even had a big C on his chest. Edyta was wearing a costume that looked like Princess Leia’s slave outfit from Return of the Jedi. Carrie Ann loved it (Of course she has a little thing for Cameron). Len said, “You and paso doble go together like fish and chips.” Bruno said, “Superman is back, well done!”
Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 27

Marie Osmond & Jonathon Roberts
Dance: Viennese Waltz
Very nice. As Len would say, well done! Len thought it was lovely. Bruno agreed but, he was looking for more emotion and character from Marie. Carrie Ann agreed that it was lovely and elegant.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 26

Jennie Garth & Derek Hough
Dance: Paso Doble
This was probably Jennie’s strongest performance yet. She looked really good. Bruno was impressed by how much Jennie has improved. Carrie Ann wanted to call Jennie on her feet leaving the floor again. Len said, “that was fantastic.”
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 10 (Wow, he must have really thought it was fantastic!)
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 27

Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough
Dance: Viennese Waltz
After last week’s disappointing scores, this couple seemed to be having some trouble getting along during the workouts. They seem to have overcome that though. Their waltz was really fantastic. Carrie Ann said, “Helio, when you dance you make me happy to be alive.” Len thought they did a really good job. Bruno compared them to sunlight.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 27
