We wrote about Terminator coming to a TV series this season several months ago, but now it’s closer than ever as its January premiere looms nearby. I’m surprised this didn’t make it into the main Fall lineup, but maybe that tells us something about what to expect. As a huge fan of the series I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. However, the Orlando Sentinel mentions some concerns of their own:
“Sarah Connor Chronicles” picks up where “Terminator 2″ left off. The series follows Sarah (Lean [sic] Headey of “300″) and her 15-year-old son John (Thomas Dekker) as they are on the run from the law.
The scheduling of “Sarah Connor Chronicles” is likely to cause controversy. It is one of the most violent series in recent years, and it’s going to play at 8 p.m. (7 in the Central time zone).
While the first thing that caught my attention was the “most violent series” I also quickly picked up on Lena Headey from the movie “300” (read our review). She definitely had the strong woman role down pat in that movie, so maybe this could be decent after all. I’m still going to have my hangups regarding that this series takes place between T2 and T3, so we know John survives any danger and Sarah dies of cancer. I guess it’ll be up to the side characters to get killed off along the way. Watch the series trailer below.
What do you think? Will you be tuning in for the first Terminator TV series or are you going to wait for Terminator 4 (minus the Arnold)?
