Last night gave us an interesting set of performances. Each couple performed a different dance. There were a couple of comebacks and a few real disappointments. Here is how the couples stood with judges at the end of the show:

Mel & Maksim: 30
Helio & Julianne: 28
Jennie & Derek: 27
Sabrina & Mark: 25
Cameron & Edyta: 25
Marie & Jonathon: 23
Jane & Tony: 22
The top three couples should be fine. Helio & Julianne and Jennie & Derek both made big comebacks last night. I would be very surprised if either of these couples were in danger. Mel & Maksim, well, you can’t argue with success. You can’t get a score better than perfect so they should also feel pretty confident going in to tonight’s results show. Sabrina & Mark had a rough night. This is their lowest score this season. They have been doing so well up until this point that I find it hard to believe the audience would not give them another shot. If any couple out there deserves it they do. If you remember I was concerned for them in week 4 when Sabrina & Mark received their perfect score that they had peaked too early. While I hope and expect them to get another chance but they better pick it up again next week.
On to the bottom three. I have to say that Cameron is starting to impress me more and more. I really liked how he did last night both in the individual and group routines. I think Edyta failed him a little last night with the choreography of their routine but he did a great job executing it. I’d like to see him come back again. Jane & Tony were in the bottom two last week and basically they failed last night. I’m not sure the audience is going to give them a second pass. They should expect to be in the bottom two again tonight. After last week’s collapse on TV, Marie & Jonathon seemed a little hesitant. All of the judges commented on how this couple seemed to really play it safe. Because of her medical problem, the audience may cut her some slack or it may not. Depending on this tonight’s bottom two will be Jane & Tony and either Marie & Jonathon or Cameron & Edyta. Although in the end I doubt it will matter. If anyone except Jane & Tony go home tonight I will be shocked.
