The Bachelor Season 11

With only four girls remaining, Brad goes to their hometowns tonight to meet their families and hopefully make a favorable impression. Based on the previews for tonight I can’t say I was convinced that he was going to pull it off.

Hometown Visit #1: Jenni, Witchita, Kansas
Jenni started the dance by taking Brad to the theater where she won her first dance competition and then put on a personal performance for him. Seeing how much she loved dance though Brad went back to his concern over her wanted to remain in Phoenix for another year. He wasn’t sure he believed that a long distance relationship would really work. He actually told her that he was worried about it. Jenni didn’t think it would be a problem and that it would show that he was willing to compromise for her. Next it was off to Mom’s hair salon for a wash and a cut. I wonder if ABC picked up the $12 tab. He was confronted by Mom, Dad, her sister, and her grandmother. Her grandmother, as Brad put it, was firecracker. Grandma wanted to know if he was a drinker. Brad swore he was one of the most boring bar guys you ever met. Nice way to dodge the question Brad. While Mom had Brad’s head in the sink she started interrogating him. The best question she asked was whether he met a lot of girls at the bar. He said yes but not the right ones. Richard, Jenni’s Dad, really liked him. At dinner Jenni found out that she made the Phoenix Suns dance team again for the next year. Jenni told him that she really would be in it for him no matter what a million percent. Brad said that he would be OK with it. When Brad asked her what she wanted. Jenni said she wanted him in her life. I think that these two would make a good couple.

Hometown Visit #2: Sheena, Walnut Creek, California
This visit started off with a day on Sheena’s Dad’s boat. They went tubing behind the boat on the river. Sheena’s Mom, Beverly, is a real space cadet. Beverly felt like there was a real connection, like he was her son-in-law already. Brad and Sheena’s Dad are the same sign, Scorpio. Beverly was convinced that Brad was just like Sheena’s Dad. She babbled on about Brad’s eyes and how the stars were lining up. She said both my daughter and I are ready to commit. Mom was ready to go get a ring that day and start planning the wedding. Brad looked like a deer in the headlights. Sheena was convinced the date went well though. I’m not sure I agree, but hey it could have been worse. You know, like Bettina’s hometown visit.

Hometown Visit #3: DeAnna, Atlanta, Georgia
DeAnna first took Brad to her Dad’s house to meet him, her brother, sister, and step-mother. Brad made a great impression on her Dad. This is the first time Brad asked the family a question. He asked her Dad if he thought what Brad and DeAnna could be real. Her Dad replied absolutely. Before this visit I didn’t realize Brad had grown-up around Atlanta or that DeAnna’s mother had passed away. She shared her mother’s pictures with Brad which was a special moment for both of them. Later the most of DeAnna’s extended family came in and the had a traditional Greek party. They did shots of ouzo which her family loved. Then they did some traditional Greek dancing. Out of all four visits, I would definitely have to say this one was the best.

Hometown Visit #4: Bettina, Washington, D.C.
Bettina was convinced her family was going to love Brad. At her Dad’s house Brad got to meet Bettina’s Dad, Step-Mom, Mom, and Sister. Bettina was hoping her Dad would approve because she thought the two of them always thought alike. Her Dad was a college professor so when he found out that Brad dropped out of school her father’s response was, “Well that’s a great disappointment.” Her Dad obviously would have preferred he had a Ph.D. When Brad told her family that he owned four bars in Texas, you could tell that her family was not impressed with his lifestyle. Way to torpedo your daughter’s love life. Brad seriously felt like he was being judged harshly. Her Mom actually used the words “stringing along all of these girls.” I’d love to know what her ex-husband did for a living. That guy may just have run screaming from her family. Her family obviously liked him though. Her Dad didn’t think she would ever find another man as good as her first husband. Good luck ever keeping a guy Bettina with that lot hovering around. Aside from not liking Brad’s life they also were totally against the whole idea behind the concept of the show. Bettina then spoke with Brad that she could see her family’s concerns. Brad was shocked because he didn’t like being judged and he felt like he was being blind-sided because Bettina suddenly seemed to judge him the same way.

There was no pre-ceremony cocktail party tonight. They went straight to the Rose Ceremony.

Rose Ceremony:

Rose

Roses:
1. DeAnna
2. Jenni
3. Bettina

The Bachelor 11 DeAnna The Bachelor 11 Jenni The Bachelor 11 Bettina

The girl who did not receive a rose tonight was Sheena. To which my response is, you have to be kidding me. Now granted her Mom was a nut job but, he could have kept her around for another week. There is no way that a relationship is ever going to workout with Bettina. Brad just didn’t have the feelings for Sheena that he did with the other girls. I guess the heart wants what the heart wants. I hope for Brad’s sake his heart doesn’t want Bettina. If he thought that the hometown visit was a disaster try a long term relationship. I feel bad Sheena, she really liked Brad. So much for the stars aligning.

The Bachelor 11 Sheena

Next Week:
Brad takes the three girls to Cabo. DeAnna tells Brad she’s falling for him, Jenni has trouble telling him how she feels, and Bettina does damage control.

I thought it interesting that the only family he took a gift to was DeAnna’s. Hmmm……
