It’s almost over, the season is so close to the end and at this point it’s still nearly anyone’s game. Last night on DWTS Carrie Ann noted that Melanie and Maksim have put themselves out ahead of the rest of the crowd, but don’t forget Helio & Julianne who outscored them by just a touch. Looking over the leader board from yesterday I think it’s clear that it’s like two separate competitions going on at this point. The second tier pairs are still doing some great dancing but I think their chances of winning aren’t nearly as strong as the top two: Helio & Melanie.
Overall Judges Leader Board
Helio & Julianne: 57
Mel & Maksim: 56
Cameron & Edyta: 51
Jennie & Derek: 50
Marie & Jonathon: 49
Last week we saw Jane Seymour get the DWTS boot which put a kink in my theory that an older demographic could keep stars like her and Marie safe. That said, I think we’re looking at a bottom two of Marie & Jennie. They were both in the bottom two and I think the scores reflected their performances as well. Cameron is managing to keep just a touch ahead, which should make him safe this week but I don’t think it’s enough to take it all home. When it comes down to either Jennie or Marie I’m torn. I’ll throw a semi-blind guess here and predict we’ll say our final goodnight to Marie and her dancing partner Jonathon. I’m attributing Jennie’s safety to her partner Derek for his popularity, but is it enough to override Marie’s own stardom? We’ll see in just a few hours. What do you think? Look, I’m 60 and I have always loved Jane Seymour; however, I need a little excitement to kick start my pacemaker. It was obvious last week that Jane will always be graceful and gorgeous and unexciting. Mel and Maks, on the other hand, sent the old ticker into overdrive. I didn’t even need my prune juice after their pasa doble. I like all of the dancers that are left, but I would love to see Marie get 3rd place after Helio (2nd) and Mel (1st). Fogies as entertaining as Marie should get to at least sniff the trophy.

I think that’s a pretty fair breakdown and wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it come down that way in the end.
Mel and Maks definitely seem to have the most intense routines.

I THINK THAT TONIGHTS DANCING WITH THE STARS IS THE VERY LAST TIME I WILL BE WATCHING THE SHOW. IT IS VERY SAD THAT WHEN EXCELLENT DANCES ARE GOING HOME WEEK AFTER WEEK AND SOMEONE LIKE MARIE OSMOND IS STILL THERE. SHE CANNOT DANCE FOR ANYTHING HAS NO TALENT BUT IS STILL THERE WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON. I HAVE WATCHED THE SHOW SINCE IT STARTED BUT THIS SEASON IS A REAL DISAPPIONTMENT. I WILL BE WATCHING OTHER PROGRAMS LIKE ALL MY CHILDREN WHERE CARMON IS APPRECIATED. OR ANYTHING ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHTS. I JUST HOPE THAT MARIE OSMOND DOES NOT WIN IT ALL BECAUSE IT WILL BE A SLAP IN THE FACE TO EVERYONE. ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN ON THE SHOW OR WHO EVER WATCHED THE SHOW.

That is your opinion -but Marie is a great entertainer and knows how to sell the dance. It’s not about the best dancer - but the entire performance - and; Marie will get my votes everytime.

You are right…the show is for entertainment, and everybody’s favorite can’t win. The only thing that is “going on” is that more people voted for Marie than Cameron. There’s no slap in the face to anyone; they are all working hard. She’s not the best dancer, true, but she isn’t a BAD dancer, and she’s fun! She’s a lot better than Jerry Rice was, and he stayed in it for the same reason: People liked him. Billy Ray Cyrus was so bad I wanted to cry every time he was on, but he kept coming back because of his fan base. Actually, except for Sabrina, this year has really been just right when it comes to the eliminations. If someone managed to have his or her favorite win every previous year, well, you’ve been lucky. I’m still disappointed about Mario (clearly the best that year), but I don’t hate Emmitt for winning. I liked him too (not to mention my favorite pro Cheryl). The show is supposed to be fun! Some folks need to lighten up!
