The final cut. Without a doubt the most brutal cut too. To make it all the way to the semi-finals after putting in 9 weeks of hard work to fall just short of making it to the finals would be heart wrenching. The scores were very close last night. The decision of who made it to the finals was pretty much in the hands of the fans. Here is a look at last night’s scores:

Mel & Maksim: 60
Jennie & Derek: 58
Marie & Jonathon: 56
Jennie & Derek received tonight’s Judge’s Encore for the dramatic improvement with their Cha Cha Cha over their performance last week. I usually don’t cover all of the filler ABC adds into the results show to stretch it out to last a full hour anymore. Tonight though, I will say that I really liked Avril Lavigne’s new single. Her second performance was cool too but that was more because they brought back Sabrina & Mark to dance while she sang. I was also surprised because I actually enjoyed the performance by the Lord of the Dance. Usually I don’t care for the guest dance performers and I when I heard who it was going to be, I rolled my eyes and nearly switched the channel. But I watched it and I have to say that was pretty cool to watch.
The couples who made the finals are:
1. Marie & Jonathon
2. Mel & Maks
3. Helio & Julianne
That means the couple going home tonight is Jennie & Derek. Apparently, even getting the Judge’s Encore doesn’t mean your safe. The only reason Marie is still in the competition is because of the fans. She is definitely not as good as Jennie, she’s just more popular. Sorry Jennie, it was a good run. I didn’t think Jennie was going to make it this far. To be honest I doubt she did either. In the end I don’t think it makes a difference whether Marie & Jonathon or Jennie & Derek made it to the finals, neither of these couples would have won. Helio & Julianne and Mel & Maks are just too strong. Its going to be one of these two couples. It has to be. Right?

I agree with you that when there is a guest singer having to watch the dancers instead of the guest is rude to the singer. But, of course to see Sabrina and Mark was a treat. Mark, Derek, and Julianne are so pro in their posture and performance it’s an art with them. They reveal such great teachings they’ve had throughout their life. Marie could take the final with her fans support, there are alot of us Christians watching this show just because of her. We are proud every time she mentions God, if that’s the reason she’s on the show, we’ll take that. It would be great to see Julianne take it for the 2nd time to jump ahead of Burke….

i think that next season ABC should bring a new crop of Pro dancers to DWTS. It’s time to refresh. Too much into the recent dancers personal life. Certainly there must be more pro dancers than what you have given us season after season, it’s getting boring. It would be great to ‘meet’ other pro dancers and see their styles and techniques.
