In seasons past one of the things the producers of ABC’s The Bachelor have done is to use the runner up from the show as the next Bachelor or Bachelorette. This season’s Bachelor, Brad Womack, in a shocking end to the season, chose none of the girls. With so many broken hearts this season, it seems to me that one of these ladies should get a second chance at finding love. As I thought about it, really, any one of the final five could make a good Bachelorette. Here are my thoughts on each of these girls:
DeAnna is the obvious first choice. She was the girl Brad was going to ask to marry him. I really think that she was the most broken hearted. She was great catch. Brad should never have let her get away. She was really pretty bitter after her experience with Brad though so I’m not sure if she would be willing to put herself through that again. While she is the obvious choice and would make a great Bachelorette, I doubt she would do it.
Jenni could be The Bachelorette. I’m not sure Jenni would do it. I think that she would love the attention, but she made such a big deal about her dance career with the Phoenix Suns. Taping The Bachelorette would seriously interfere with that. If she gave up her dancing to do the show after telling Brad they couldn’t be together until after her dancing contract ended, you know Brad made a wise choice in not selecting her because she wasn’t in it for him.
Bettina is an option but after her family’s reaction to Brad, I seriously doubt she would have anything further to do with The Bachelor. Even if she was though, what guy in his right mind would have anything to do with her crazy family? They would have to find a bunch of Ph.D.’s to be on the show and then it wouldn’t be The Bachelorette, it would be Beauty and the Geek. I don’t know. Bettina has a lot of baggage. While this might be fun to watch, I’m not sure the fans would embrace her as the heroine of the show.
Sheena was sweet, even if her family, her mom in particular, was just a few bricks shy if you know what I mean. She would probably not be my first choice, but I think she would be OK as The Bachelorette. I also think she might be willing to do it. As her mom said, she’s the one, she might not be Brad’s one, but she’s someone’s special one. The Bachelorette might give her the chance to find out whose ‘one’ she is.
Hillary was the girl who left the show in the most “Dramatic Rose Ceremony Ever”. Hillary was totally devastated when Brad sent her home. I think Hillary is pretty resiliant though. I think that she will be able to move on pretty quickly. Hillary would love having the attention of 25 guys vying for her attention. Plus, she’s just a little bit crazy, so I think she would be a lot of fun to watch as The Bachelorette. Given a choice Hillary would be my first choice as next season’s Bachelorette.
That’s my take on it. I doubt ABC will use any of the girls from this season again, which is too bad. I liked it when they continued from one season to the next because you already were invested in The Bachelor/Bachelorette so it was more fun to watch.

Jenni has said in several interviews that she’s back with her ex-boyfriend and they’re very happy.

Good for Jenni. I guess that takes her out of the running. I’d vote for Hillary as she seems emotional enough to keep it entertaining.

I do not think Hillary or Deanna would be the best choices. I’d prefer to see Bevin (Andy Baldwin)or Tina Fabulous (Andrew Firestone).

I would like to see Amanda (Matt Grant) as the next Bachelorette. She is very attractive and smart. She deserves another chance to find love.
