Yesterday CBS put up their first new ad for the upcoming winter edition of Big Brother 9 which starts February 12th. The commercial, which you can watch below, consisted of a remix of clips from season 8 and the music video for “Dirty Little Secret” from The All-American Rejects. This is definitely the hippest commercial I’ve ever seen CBS try and put together for the series which raises my next question. Will CBS continue to focus on the younger audience for this season as they did with most of the cast last year? Considering a 40+ yr old won the whole game last time I thought they might be inclined to bring in a few more older folks like Dick rather than stack the deck with 20 year olds. I’ll admit I’m drawing a lot of conclusions from the first glance at the new season, so I could be way off here.
Since I’m making wild assumptions here let’s consider the possibility that we’re catching our first glimpse at the new theme for Big Brother 9. First we’re told “Everybody has a secret.” Next, “I don’t play fair.” Lastly, “Sometimes I LIE.” So the last two are par for the Big Brother course and we’ve seen plenty of seasons where we’ve had secrets whether it was secret alliances or secret pasts (worst enemies). Perhaps we’re looking at a round where each contestant comes to the house with their own bit of personal baggage and the other guests are trying to discover what they’re hiding. Hmm. That could be interesting, but considering how flat the past “twists” have fallen you’d think they had M. Night. Shama-lama writing them.
So here’s a thought: CBS, just let these folks do what they do best naturally, eat each other alive. Through them in the Big Brother pit, turn out the lights, and then we’ll see who comes out on top. Hot damn I’m excited for Big Brother 9. What about you? Comment below or speak your mind at the Big Brother 9 Net Forum.

I definitely agree. TV is dragging these days, but Big Brother should give us that lift in just a few weeks.

Big Brother has gone from my favorite reality show to one I will not bother to watch if it even smells like the one we had this past summer. I am over twins, relatives, past lovers and etc. that give some an unfair advantage. I thought that America’s player would be great but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Let’s hope that Big Brother 9 will have it together and make up for the last season.

Going back to the basics would be a great idea. I’ve heard rumors of a shortened schedule, which could be a perfect coupling with twistless season. Just get in and do it.

Agreed!! The twists seem to turn more and more lame with each season. I completely missed seasons 2-4 when they originally aired, and I just watched them on YouTube. Seasons 2 and 3 were great!!! Some more of that please!

That is weird. No clue what’s coming up that night, but it shouldn’t be BB9 for another ~2 weeks from then.

how funny that you have people on here saying they wont watch the show yet they are on this website? Who are you fooling idiot!
January 30th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Jon, I can’t find one person on here that said they won’t watch the show. The closest was Bill P. noting that if the show turns south he’s ready to walk, but that he’s still looking forward to it.
