The Big Brother 9 season gets closer and closer with each step. This time the step was completing the casting process for the first time winter installment of the voyeuristic reality series. Sorry all you audition hopefuls that didn’t get the call and congratulations to those who did. The message came out from Big Brother’s casting director, Robyn Kass, on her MySpace page:

Thanks, once again, to everyone who auditioned for BB9! We had a fantastic turn out and the decisions were tough.

This is to inform you that all BB9 finalists have been contacted already. If you did not receive a call remember…. just because you’re not right for the mix this season doesn’t mean you won’t be right for the next season. Don’t give up! Thanks for your support of the show!

While the casting might have wrapped up the usual early rumors have just begun. Arkansas Online was reporting that local Tony Westbrook, a 33 year old assisted living worker, had been named as the first houseguest for Big Brother 9. Let’s stop right there. That’s totally bogus though as we already know they just now finished the casting process and the latest houseguests won’t even know for sure until roughly two weeks before the new season. Remember last season before Big Brother 8 when there was an entire list of folks rumored to be the new houseguests? Yeah, those were all bogus too. Someone spends a lot of time putting these rumors out there and while its entertaining you can usually dismiss them until days before the show.

Okay, so like Kass said, if you didn’t make the cut for this season don’t give up. Big Brother 10 is just around the corner as CBS has promised that new season for this summer on its usual schedule. Considering auditions are usually just a few months before the show begins you can expect to hear more details on those auditions around May. Until then you’ll just have to settle for BB9!
