Kiefer Sutherland mugshot

Kiefer Sutherland was released from jail this morning after serving his full 48 day sentence for his second DUI conviction and for violating his probation. Here is his mugshot from when he entered the Glendale California jail on December 5, of last year, which is shocking only because he is probably the sole person in California to ever serve an entire sentence. He’s at least got to be the only celebrity who has done it. All the other prison bound celebs from Hilton on down seem to go in for a week or two vacation and then come out to even more notoriety.

Sutherland appears to have done his time, done it quietly, and was released with little or no fan fare. I hate to say I respect a guy for that, but compared to the other well known celebrity inmates Sutherland seems to be more of a stand up guy. Sutherland is still facing five more years probation, an 18-month alcohol education program (most of us called that college), and attend weekly therapy sessions for six months. Too bad he doesn’t have a job to come back to since FOX decided to bag the 2008 season of 24 thanks in part to the writer’s strike. At least its cancellation didn’t come as a result of his incarceration.
