Last night the San Diego auditions gave us 31 contestants headed for Hollywood. Not bad. Tonight, Simon, Paula, and Randy head down to South Carolina to see what the South has to offer. Last season, 4 of the final 12 were from the South and the year before that 8 of the 12 were Southerners. As a result, I have high hopes for tonight. I’m sure we’ll have the usual assortment of crazies but, I’m counting on the South to represent again. In any case, I’ll be watching tonight to see if our American Idol judges can find another big batch of contestants to send to Hollywood.
On a side thought, does anyone else feel like we’re getting lopsided with more women heading to Hollywood than men? Not that I’m opposed to that or anything. Maybe it’s just has more to do with the fact that we don’t get to see all 20 or 30 people from each audition stop who move on, so when it comes time to select who to show they decide the pretty blondes are more worthwhile. Either way, it’d be nice if American Idol gave us a quick run down at the end of each audition episode showing us the entire list of folks moving on. What do you think?

The pilot was one of the best I have seen. I can’t believe she didn’t get any yes’es. Give her another chance. did you see her blue eyes?
She is a pilot that can sing……. GREAT. GIVE HER ANOTHER CHANCE, YOU’LL HEAR WHAT WE HEARD!!

The show is still TOO focused on back-stories and not singing talent. Why can’t they just audition those with a fair-to-good chance and forget about the freaks and geeks. Watching delusional losers stopped being funny years ago.

It would be a nice change of pace to just show good auditions and maybe just 1 or 2 bad ones. These are getting tough to watch.
