American Idol Stage

The American Idol judges did pretty well last week. They sent 31 from San Diego and 23 from Charleston to Hollywood last week. Tonight Randy, Paula, and Simon head to Omaha, Nebraska to take in a new set of auditions. This is the Midwest’s chance to step up and show America that they’ve got talent. Oh wait, that’s a different show. Most of the people we actually see tonight won’t have any talent anyway so it really doesn’t matter. Usually I enjoy the audition shows but this season, I’m looking forward to the end of the auditions. When they get to Hollywood thats when the cuts will begin in earnest. Then we can get our 12 finalists and the real show can begin.

While overall the auditions have been somewhat discouraging it has been interesting to notice how I don’t get the feeling of regional vibes. Each location each week seems to offer a similar feel. Maybe its silly to expect a different set of performers considering we aren’t on the “It’s A Small World” ride. That might be less painful though. Come on American Idol! Less bad! More good!

I believe the Omaha audition commercial is David Cook. When I seen it, I was so excited for him. He is very talented and truly what Amercian Idol is about. I am very impressed with him and hope he goes far. I have tried to follow him since he was in the band Axium with his friends in school. Way to go David. All of us in Blue Springs are wishing you the best.

Well that’s good to hear. I’m hoping for some strong performances tonight. At least it sounds like we’ll have that one to look forward to.
