Last night on Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, ABC gave its viewers a sneak peek at the new Bachelor when host Drew Lachey had a chance to speak with him. Matt Grant is a 27-year-old “global financier” who hails from London, UK. I’m not sure what global financier is but I assume that means he has money. He’s athletic, intelligent, good looking, rich and at 6′5″ he definitely falls into the tall, dark, and handsome category. Throw in his accent and he is well on his way to being the perfect Bachelor. ABC is making a big deal out of his being the first international Bachelor.
Grant is going to have the chance to choose from 25 gorgeous American women. So what is the new bachelor looking for in his future wife to be? In an interview with OK Magazine, Grant said he is “looking for a woman to make me laugh and someone who is very social, close to family and friends and someone who is smart, who can challenge me. American women are much more sporty than British women. I love their flirty side.” One possible hitch for this latest crop of bachelorettes is Grant wants kids and he wants them soon. In the same interview Grants said, “I’m ready to start a family, Dad had a stroke at the end of 2006 and that really shook me. I want my kids to know my father, because he was a great father to me and I want him to be a grandfather to them. I wouldn’t mind [having] three or four kids.”Season 12 is shaping up to be interesting already. Stay tuned. Season 12 of The Bachelor begins March 17 on ABC at 8/7C.
