Few things make me as happy as an episode of Arrested Development. So the recurring news of the potential for an Arrested Development movie makes me very excited. Jason Bateman has been dropping hints for awhile of the discussions and here he goes again in an interview with E! News:
“I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started,” Bateman says. “Any talk is targeting a poststrike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it’s a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed.”
Best of all it sounds like everyone is onboard. Officially they’ve only singled out Bateman and his on-screen father Tambor as having talked with producer Ron Howard, but the rest are grouped as giving positive reactions. I don’t think this is one of those stories that could be done without the original cast. If the progress on the WGA Strike is as good as reported then maybe we’ll get this going soon.
Here’s a clip from MSNBC discussing the movie, and yes I would buy one of those Corn-Ballers:
