Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey teamed back up (previously with “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days”) for a successful return to the box office as they pulled a decent opening weekend earning of $22 million. Fellow freshman flick “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins” did a respectable job with $17.1 which isn’t bad considering it’s a comedy with a very unfunny star. Falling two places to #3 was the “one weekend only” Hannah Montana concert movie which is now in its second week. Nice tricky marketing job there Disney. The other debut film, Hilton’s “The Hottie & The Nottie”, crashed and burned, thankfully, with an embarrassing earning of just $25,000 while averaging just $225 a theater (not per screening). Let’s hope that’s the end of that.
