Knight Rider, the beloved 80’s series featuring The Hoff, returns tonight to NBC as a 2 hour made for TV movie intent on bringing about a follow-on series. Just days before the event’s premiere we found out KITT’s original voice actor, Will Arnett, had been cut loose from the project due to his other contract work with GMC. Val Kilmer has stepped in to replace him, but from the video below I’d never know that was who was doing it. What I’m saying is Kilmer is a much better fit than I imagined.

Since this program looks to be just one big commercial for Ford’s Mustang (that’s KITT’s reborn state) Ford is giving away four limited edition Shelby GT 500 KR’s. That might end up being the best thing to come out of this, so check out the details to enter here at NBC.com. If you watch this, let us know what you thought. I just have a hard time getting excited about commercials disguised to look like movies or shows. Commercials belong between the show’s scenes, not the other way around.
