Last night the American Idol men put up some decent performances nothing truly spectacular. I really didn’t expect too much though. This was the guys first shot at the American Idol stage. The biggest complaint from the judges was that most of the men just came out and sang their songs. The judges didn’t feel like enough of the men really made enough of an effort to make the songs their own and make them relevant to a modern audience. I’ll be interested to see if the women take this lesson to heart. I’m actually much more excited to see the girls than the guys. As a group I think the women are much stronger contestants than the guys. I couldn’t even remember half of the guys names. So unfortunately for the women, my expectations for tonight are a bit higher than they were last night.
