BB9 Houseguests

Tonight on Big Brother 9 it’s to find out who James & Chelsia have nominated for possible eviction later this week. Immediately we are thrust into this new reign of “shady power” as James & Chelsia say they are “shady people”. I like the sound of this as it’d be nice to see someone start playing this game like there is $500,000 at stake. The folks most worried by this new HoH couple? Why that’d be Amanda & Alex after that huge blow up in the yard last week with Amanda, Chelsia, and Joshuah. I’m feeling bad for Alex at this point as I think he seems pretty cool, but I’m not so sold on Amanda.

Talk about time to get into strategy, James heads right out to the backyard and meets with Ryan and Adam to discuss the game. Now this just might be the smartest thing we’ve heard all season, so far of course. “Operation Condor” is this triad’s plan to eliminate the “top shelf”. The “top shelf” folk are those literally on the top row of the Memory Wall. So far Jen & Parker have already been eliminated, leaving only Amanda & Alex. Wow, I’ve never heard of someone being targeted for their location on the Memory Wall. Vicious! Let’s see if these guys can pull it off. No word on if their female counterparts are included in this mission or not.

While strategy is fun Big Brother knows that all work and no love makes Jack a dull boy. Natalie is all mushy lovey over Matt and how cute she thinks he is. She tells Amanda that he puts butterflies in her stomach and naughty thoughts in her head. I’m not so sure Matt feels the same way though. We see Natalie trying to seduce Matt into the HoH tub with a bubble bath, but all her cries for help and attention fall on deaf ears. Finally Matt comes in and says, “we’re not having sex.” Natalie is stunned and says that’s not what she wants. Matt tells us in a DR sidebar that he doesn’t want to let sex distract him in this game. Smart move!

On to the food competition which has to be the most disgusting thing Big Brother has ever offered up. The houseguests break into two teams and head out back to a lake of dead fish. Half of each time descends into the water while the other half are left to hold up fish nets. Each team member runs around, picking up fish, and throwing them into their opponents’ net increasing the weight of the net. As the nets get heavier the houseguests left aboard the boats will have a harder time holding them up. The last team left standing, I mean holding a fish net full of dead fish, wins. Ryan gets targeted first and is the first to drop his heavy net. James isn’t far behind him either. It finally comes down to Adam & Joshuah and in the end Joshuah holds out longer. The losing team returns to a table full of slop buckets.

On a serious note, the slop diet turned very unhealthy for one houseguest who was rushed to the hospital over the weekend. If you’re interested in those details you can find them here on Big Brother 9 Forum.

Back to Big Brother fun time. Before James & Chelsia can make their nominations they have to make out in the HoH room. We hear James tell us that he’s getting a crush on Chelsia who also admits she is starting to develop feelings for James. As these two are tucked away in their new HoH room we watch as James eventually coaxes Chelsia into bed where they have a brief kissing fest. What Big Brother didn’t show tonight was all the alcohol these two consumed to get into a kissy-face state. So if you were hoping for a big relationship here we might be getting misled by BB. What? Big Brother lie to us? Nooo, of course not…

Eventually we get back to the big story of tonight, the nominations. Without much fanfare at all James & Chelsia launch the nomination ceremony. With only three keys to draw this one goes by quickly and leaves just Matt & Natalie and Alex & Amanda empty handed. James straight up tells Alex & Amanda that they’ve been targeted and that Matt & Natalie are just pawns. Chelsia adds that her dislike for Amanda and her gameplay for directly led to this arrangement. Alex says he’s not surprised as he knows the HGs don’t like Amanda too much and will now have to focus on the Power of Veto competition to save his skin.
