Earlier this week I started seeing details of this movie, “The Fall”, flood back onto the interwebs. Flood back because “The Fall” was made back in 2008 but never really saw the light of day. Now, thanks to the efforts of David Fincher and Spike Jonze, “The Fall” is set to return and find an audience in theaters this April. It’s hard to put down in words just how awesome this movie looks, but I’ve never been one to be short on words. “Fall” features a now recognizable Lee Pace, “Pushing Daises“, amidst a mostly unknown cast, but it’s not the cast that wow’d me but rather the gorgeous visuals.
When I first watched the trailer (see below) I couldn’t help but be reminded of “The Cell” from 2000. Turns out there was a reason for that. Both films were directed by the same man, Tarsem Singh. While the storyline of “The Cell” might not have been great it was the presentation that made that such an visual treat. This time around I think we’ll get both the story and the imagery. I’ve watched the trailer probably a dozen times now and I’m very, very anxious to see “The Fall” on the big screen.
