Tonight on Big Brother 9 we get our nomination ceremony and excessive doses of Joshuah’s drama queen attitude. They could have just entitled this one as “Joshuah loves Joshuah, and not you,” because when the clips aren’t of the nominations or the food competition all we get is Joshuah & Allison fighting with some nasty, mean insults being thrown around. To back up a little it seems to have started when Allison informed Joshuah & Sharon that they were changing their votes to eliminate Alex & Amanda just an hour before the voting. Couple that with Joshuah’s new found personal pain over Allison’s story of being a lesbian with Sheila and you’ve got one unhappy little guy.
Once everyone is back inside following the HoH competition where no one celebrated except J&S, as Allison pointed out, things get ugly. Joshuah starts harassing Allison and won’t let up. Once they finally get separated Ryan tries to find out what it was that Allison did to upset J. He can’t come up with anything other than it being something about her demeanor. Later when Matt & Ryan try to console Allison she turns on them and says she can’t believe they didn’t step up and protect her and tell J not talk to her like that. Seems like a dumb move for A considering they were trying to be nice.
To balance out all the hate we get a little romantic moment between Matt & Natalie in bed. She’s trying to cuddle up with him and he’s pushing her away. Finally he gives in and they kiss for awhile. Insert a great big editing job here and the scene jumps to Matt telling Natalie that she can’t get emotionally attached. I can’t believe how much Big Brother cut out of this scene. While I understand they can’t show what Natalie actual did I’m surprised they didn’t allude to it at all. It seems like the producers worked very hard to get a disturbingly over sexed cast this season (many most of the things these HGs have done couldn’t be shown on cable television) and then to not even allude to their actions is perplexing to me. If you want to find out what really happened between those two then check here.
The food competition comes around and this one seems cruelly designed to out the women’s weight. The couples play as partners where the men have to guess the women’s weight in piles of asparagus. The guys have to pile up crates of asparagus until they think they’ve come within 10 pounds of their partner’s actual weight. Each pairing has a designated food group which they are responsible to win. If they miss the mark and lose on their turn then the whole house is denied that food group. Thankfully for them three of the couples guess right with Matt & Natalie being the only ones to get it wrong by just a few pounds. I’m very impressed as I think I’d be terrible at guessing someone’s weight in food equivalents. This week the house won’t have any carbs or a bonus feast event. It’s semi-worth noting that Joshuah announced Sheila’s weight with the commentary, “coming in at a whopping 131 pounds.” Considering J appears to have smuggled in a tire in his gut I don’t think he’s in the right place to be calling anyone’s weight “whopping.” It’s official, I don’t like that guy at all.
Back in the house tempers flair again between Joshuah & Allison, but this time Allison is fighting back a little stronger. She can’t quite keep up with the nastiness that Joshuah can think up, but she tries. That all leads to an emergency house meeting in the HoH called by Joshuah and not so subtly, like Sharon requested, leaving out Allison & Ryan. They all kiss Joshuah’s worked up feet because they’re so relieved he’s not targeting them this week. Everyone agrees to risk the chances of A&R getting the PoV by putting them up on the nomination block now. While all of this is going on Allison assures Ryan she can flip J back to her side and heads up to the HoH room to prove it. Yeah, that didn’t work at all. Rebuffed, Allison heads out.
The nomination ceremony is up and there are just two keys to pull this week (very strange to see that already!). As expected, Allison & Ryan along with soon to be habitual nominees Matt & Natalie have been nominated for eviction. J&S explain they made these choices based on the perceived threat. I’m surprised J didn’t use this soap box as a chance to tell Allison he did it because she’s “flat chested” like he did earlier. Matt isn’t happy about being up there as he just got out of there a few days ago. Allison says she’s not surprised but isn’t giving up yet. Come Tuesday night we’ll see if she can save herself & Ryan in the Power of Veto competition.
Can’t wait till Tuesday to see what happens? Check out the Big Brother 9 spoilers.
