BB9 Houseguests

Update: Read tonight’s twist, eviction, and new HoH spoilers here.

Big Brother 9 is going to be exciting tonight with a brand new twist, hopefully filled with lots of fun. The most pressing issue will of course be the pending eviction and I think things are just about all locked up. At this point it looks like Allison & Ryan are doomed, leaving Sheila & Adam in the clear. A few weeks ago I would have thought just about anyone would be safe against S&A, but apparently the times are changing.

Sure, Allison may have made some off choices, but I think her demise really came down to the capricious whims of the hot-headed Joshuah. Whatever he may have said about the lesbian joke upsetting him I’m not buying a bit of it (if that was the real issue he’d be upset with Sheila too). Once Joshuah’s crown comes off and he loses the HoH position of power I’m expecting his attitude to shift into a bit of the whipped-puppy disposition. There are only three couples eligible to take over as HoH and none of them will be terribly Joshuah protective. Matt & Natalie will be gunning for James & Chelsia, but they’ll still have to put up a second couple and why bother with Adam & Sheila? Joshuah & Sharon have shown they can clean up in competitions in the right situation and that makes them a much bigger threat and I think the rest of them know it.

We’ll have plenty of time to watch the Big Brother 9 house shake and rumble with the new HoH, but what I’m really interested in is this big twist coming our way. The commercial CBS put out for tonight said that after tonight’s eviction the evicted couple might not be able to leave which pretty much means the evicted won’t leave. That leaves us with a couple of options. The evictees not only won’t really be evicted, they’ll also get to stay and play. Another option is that they’ll be confined to the house but be out of the running completely. I’m more inclined to go with the second option. Instead of the house numbers slowly dwindling the house will stay at this capacity for the duration of the season, there will just be fewer people playing each week. The source of this new twist will be yet another Jericho tie-in and is all about the “Hudson River virus”. Sheesh. Not only that but I’m fully expecting the couples to be split due to the obvious timeline issues with the rest of the season. Splitting them up would give us eight individual players, putting us much closer to the usual full season duration.

Okay, so that’s a lot of speculation but it seems like the options are limited. Expecting something entirely different? Share your thoughts with us at the Big Brother 9 Forum. We’ll also be recapping the episode live there in the Forum.

  1. Big Brother 9 Live Eviction & HoH Episode Tonight on CBS, 8/7c | Big Brother 9 Net

[...] Tonight on Big Brother 9 we’ll have the third live eviction of the season as well as the major game twist promised to us by Julie Chen. Last night at the PoV ceremony we saw Matt & Natalie wisely choose to use the PoV, putting Adam & Sheila up in their place. That means that tonight either Adam & Sheila or Ryan & Allison will be leaving the house. I’m guessing we’ll say goodbye to R&A tonight, but with this upcoming twist who knows what’s really going on. More speculation here. [...]
