BB9 Houseguests

I can tell you up front that I’m relieved we didn’t have another pathetic scene of blow-ups between Joshuah & Allison. Tonight’s Power of Veto went just expected except for the surprise news to the HGs at the end, but we’ll get to that. The scene opens with the nominees expressing their frustrations. Matt is upset because he keeps getting nominated despite his impressions of not being someone that should be messed with. Allison isn’t really too surprised, but she’s still gunning hard to stay safe this week. Only one way to do that and that’s with the PoV.

We get a few more laughs out of Natalie’s sad crush on Matt. She keeps asking for physical contact and gets denied. A hug? “No,” says Matt. A kiss? “No,” says Matt. A massage? Well you get the idea. Later on these two really get worked up and finally duke it out as Natalie is getting really frustrated, but even then she clearly doesn’t get it: Matt has zero interest in this girl.

Power of Veto Comp:
Tonight’s Power of Veto competition was pretty cool. The HGs were split with the ladies being hoisted into the air with a pulley system hooked up to the guys. When the guys ran down to the other end of their lane the women would be raised up so they could work on a puzzle in the sky. THe puzzle of course made up a picture of a PoV medallion. Most of the guys don’t get that they have to give the women time at the top before running back. This leads to Sheila and Sharon both using this as a chance to yell at their partners and criticize their game. It gets pretty exciting at the end as Allison & Ryan get all the way down to the final piece, but try as he might, Ryan just can’t find that last corner anywhere. Matt & Natalie barely sneak by and complete their puzzle first giving them this week’s Power of Veto.

Back in the house Matt really gets into the game. Now that he knows he’s safe he explains his new approach to playing. He’s going to tailor his attitude, behaviors, and interactions with each HG based on what he’s learned so far. That means doing things like try to sex up Joshuah with kisses, offering a shoulder to Allison to cry on, and even more kisses with Sharon. He’s smarter than I gave him credit here so far.

The situation comes up again between Matt & Natalie and they have their little fight. Natalie finally explains that she just wants the chance to get to know Matt. He apologizes and says that’s fine, that he’ll be friends with her, but that’s it. She agrees and they hug. For a moment there I thought she really meant it and finally saw the light, but not at all. Natalie tells us that she thinks Matt is just pretending and really thinks they have a chance as soulmates. This girl is as smart as two Olsen twins put together.

While we really don’t get anymore details on the big twist coming up the HGs do get clued in on the pending excitement. A notice arrives in the house and explains to them that when the siren goes off something big is about to happen and to be ready for anything. Pandemonium breaks loose and everyone starts to speculate. Allison hopes it’s something to help her. Joshuah panics that it might just be that. I’m thinking we’re going to see the couples split and everyone plays for themselves. What do you think? Tell me!

PoV Ceremony:
The ceremony finally arrives and there’s no suspense. Ryan tells Matt & Natalie that they earned the PoV and they should use it. I don’t think they’d have it any other way and so Matt & Natalie do just that. In their place Joshuah & Sharon nominate Adam & Sheila. Smart move.

Wednesday night we’ll get a live eviction, a big twist announcement, and expectedly a new HoH couple. Check back tomorrow for my eviction predictions as well as our episode recap and summary.
