The New York Daily News is reporting that Heath Ledger’s will states that all his assets should be transferred to his parents and three sisters, leaving ex-girlfriend, Michelle Williams, and his daughter Matilda unmentioned in the documents.
Before he hit it huge, tragic “Brokeback Mountain” hunk Heath Ledger wrote a will leaving everything he owned to his parents and three sisters.
The 28-year-old Australian actor, who died in January from an accidental overdose in his SoHo loft, filed the three-page will Down Under in April 2003.
Ledger didn’t meet Williams until they co-starred in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain and since his daughter obviously came later than that neither of them were covered in his 2003 will. While Michelle has a successful acting career this still raises the issue of how his daughter should be taken care of, as Ledger would obviously want. Heath’s parents have stepped in to make the following statement:
“Matilda is an absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be.”
So what’s the status of your will? How long since you updated it? Think about it.
