Well I’ll eat my hat. “10,000 B.C.” did way better at the box office than I thought it possibly could with $35.7 million. Considering it looked like Apocalypto but with Woolly Mammoths I thought it would be as dead as said mammoths. Not only that but Martin Lawrence managed to pull into the #2 spot with “College Road Trip”, earning $14.0 million. “Vantage Point” leapt over the flailing “Semi-Pro” to get back into the top 3 while “Pro” slipped to #4 with only $5.9 million, giving it a loss of roughly 60% from last weekend. Has Ferrell lost his magic touch? I hope not. The other new releases, “The Bank Job” earned just $5.7 million while “Miss Pettigrew” pulled just $2.5 million in only 535 theaters. Watch for a wider release this weekend of “Miss Pettigrew”.
