Big Brother 9 comes out swinging tonight right where Sunday’s nominations left off. Tonight deals were made and badly broken. By the end it was a PoV ceremony that no one but Ryan, the HoH, could have seen coming. Now this was some great Big Brother action!
Joshuah rushes right off to Ryan and offers up the deal previously discussed on keeping each other safe. Ryan goes for it and it seems like a smart move for both of them. Unfortunately, Joshuah gets too greedy with this deal and screws it up with what he considers to be a huge, great plan. Sensing Natalie is upset with Matt Joshuah suggests they go play on these emotions by convincing her to turn on her “soulmate Matty”. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Week after week we see that talking bad about another player’s “soulmate” partner is a deathwish. This week is no different. Natalie immediately runs back to Matt and tells him The Others’ plan to convince Ryan he’ll be safe for two weeks if he back doors the boy from Boston. Wisely, Matt heads right up to Ryan and tells him this exact plan. So when Joshuah comes up to Ryan with this “sudden” idea Ryan shows his cards and tells J that he already knows all of this. J is surprised, but certainly not deterred.
The resilient Joshuah comes back to play some more with Ryan’s mind just before the PoV competition. Not just J either, but the whole group comes in to convince Ryan that this is their big chance. Heck, I’d have to say they’re right. I might not care for J, but he’s got the right thinking for this situation. Matt is a tough competitor and he’ll have enough “friends” votes at the end to be dangerous. Get him out while you can!
PoV Competition:
The HGs head out back for the PoV competition which is played out on an oversized pool table. Each HG will be aiming for the center hole while trying to be the closest to the target. It’s pretty much the same style that we’ve seen before lots, but it’s a new approach and I always like these ones. The twist is that as each competing HG is eliminated he or she gets to choose a prize. That prize can then be stolen by later losers. Sheila is the first out and she pulls the grand prize, the PoV. Don’t expect that to last long. Sharon goes out next and wins a motorcycle, which she immediately trades in for Sheila’s PoV. Next out is Joshuah who wins a letter from home. Hmm, a several thousand dollar motorcycle or a letter from people you’ll see in a few weeks… J keeps the letter. Adam is out next and wins $10K! He actually trades it to Sheila and says it’s because she has a kid. That’s nice of him and a bit surprising.

It all comes down to Chelsia and Ryan. Ryan edges her out and wins the competition. Chelsia picks first, and wisely decides to trade in for Sharon’s PoV. Ryan pulls out the unitard from Big Brother 8. Oh yes, Jen’s unitard. He decides he’d rather have Sheila’s $10 Grand and makes the swap. Ugh, smart move but now Sheila moans about this to everyone and their brother. Back in the house she starts to play the “but I’ve got a kid” card and gets shut down by Chelsia on it. Um, isn’t Sheila’s son a grown adult? This gets Sheila very worked up and she heads out back to talk with everyone, again. Finally she gets ahold of Ryan’s ear and fills it with her conspiracy theories. It’s pretty funny to hear her explain the sinister plans of others which include things like “eviction us one by one until we’re gone.” Um, Sheila, pssst. That’s how this game works, Crazy.
PoV Ceremony:
The damage is done and Ryan is ready to mix things up. The house gathers for the PoV ceremony where Chelsia obviously decides to use it. Smart girl. Before Ryan reveals his decision we jump to the DR where Joshuah tells us he’s pulled off the “biggest strategic move in Big Brother history.” I’m not sure how this guy can squeeze his head through that sliding glass door everyday. Get ready for it Joshuah, cause here comes Ryan. Ryan announces that he feels caught in the middle but decides to replace Chelsia with James!
Matt walks across the room to Joshuah and tells him, “sorry your plan didn’t work out.” He comes back a moment later to tell J that “it’s on!” Hot damn this game finally got exciting. What do you think of the craziness in the house on the feeds? I’m still amazed with James and Josh’s dumb idea to pour juice and water on Natalie’s head a la Evel Dick. There’s just one Evel, folks, don’t try this at home.
So what do you think? Is James screwed or can he wiggle his way out and let Sharon walk out the door on Wednesday night? Speak up over at the forum where we’re talking about it all. Then come back tonight for our live recapping of the eviction episode, HoH competition, and surprise return of one previously evicted HG.

March 12th, 2008 at 9:24 am[...] Last night at the PoV ceremony Chelsia used the veto forcing Ryan to nominate his briefly aligned friend, James. That means that tonight either James or Sharon will be leaving the house. From what we’ve seen on the feeds it looks like it’ll be James. [...]
