Four months ago we told you about the video game to big screen adaptation plans for Max Payne. At the time we just knew that Mark Wahlberg was in line to play the title role. Now we get a few more details as it appears that Mila Kunis (That 70’s Show) will have to break herself away from boyfriend Macaulay Culkin to join the Payne cast:
Mila Kunis (That 70s Show) has been cast to co-star as an assassin looking to avenge the death of her sister. Kunis hasn’t appeared on the silver screen that much, so this is definitely a step in the right direction for this cutie.
Payne will be directed by the entertaining John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines) and hit theaters on October 17th.
While I’m all for Mila Kunis on a big screen I can’t help but be reminded of Lucy Liu’s attempt as an assassin/agent in Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever. Granted, while Liu turned it around in Kill Bill I’m still concerned for the direction this is headed.

If you want to find a good female assassin role model, look no further than La Femme Nikita. And I’m talking the original — not any of that Bridget Fonda or USA-channel crap.

I don’t know, 18 years later she might be a touch old for this one. I’m also getting the feeling that they’re looking for more content than quality with this casting.
