Tonight’s episode of Big Brother 9 was rather bitter sweet. We learned the result of America’s Vote and then had it ripped away by yet another strategically placed twist on BB’s part. All of that was wrapped up with one heck of an endurance competition that is still going as I write. You can catch up on the HoH endurance comp at Big Brother 9 Net.
Like always, we start out with a flashback to the entertaining PoV ceremony. It’s fun to watch Joshuah sit there and steam over his failed plan. Matt and Natalie march around the backyard shouting about what they just escaped. The Matt & Natalie drama isn’t over yet either as Sharon reveals to Sheila that Matt was kissing her. Sheila immediately runs back to Natalie to get her worked up and she’s successful. Instead of being mad at Matt (well, she is a little upset w/ him) she’s really upset with Sharon and says she wants to get rid of her now.

Things move rapidly tonight as there is a lot to cover. Julie rushes us right into finding out who will be coming back from America’s Vote. Chenbot tells us that Parker had the second most while Alex had the most votes from America. “But first,” says Chenbot, we discover there is a twist on the twist. The HGs will get a chance to choose to either keep whoever is evicted tonight or welcome back Alex, but the HGs won’t know it’s Alex. Well that screws Alex.
Still wasting no time, we get the pre-recorded results announced. By a vote of 5-1, James has been evicted. James heads on out to Julie’s couch to chat. Chelsia’s going away message is very emotional with lots of love and tears. It’s very sweet. JC then asks James what he would think if his BB journey wasn’t over just yet. He replies, “I might crap my pants.” JC asks him to keep it clean. It was pretty funny. Chenbot explains the voting situation and James gets ready for his chance to return.
We head back to the house where the siren goes off and all the HGs run for the living room. Chenbot explains what is going on and everyone gets ready for the live vote. In a vote of 5-3 James has been selected to return to the house over the mystery guest, Alex. Well that was a huge rip off for America. We voted all week just to have BB change the rules to fit their game. This thing is more scripted than “The Hills”.
Once James has been reunited with his crew they all head out back for the endurance competition for the next HoH. This one is Disco themed where the HGs are standing on a chain rope with a little platform and are lifted up off the ground. The last HG standing will be the new HoH. This could go all night. We’re recapping the comp live over at BigBrother9.Net.
Update: The HoH endurance comp ended around 1:15AM EST. The results can be found here.

Matt,
Please learn to read. The question was “Which houseguest do you want to give the chance to come back in”? Do you know what that means? Is it SCRIPTED BECAUSE you didn’t get what YOU wanted?
Face it is not fixed but the producers do ask them questions to get them to think. The HG’s are just idiots for voting him back in. No one made them vote that way.

Are you making fun of me because I never learned to read? Did Moonves tell you to say that?
First off, I wasn’t rooting for Alex to return, so that didn’t matter. Secondly, it’s well observed that BB adapts the situations to fit their needs. Is this your first season of BB?

Update: upon further review the original words were as such –>
“America, it’s time for you to get involved in the Big Brother game… Evicted HGs have not returned to their regular lives… With your help, one of them… will get the chance to shake things up by returning to the game. Go to cbs.com and vote for the HG you’d like to see return. Then next week, see if your choice makes it back into the house.”
Chance is a fuzzy word and here it was used differently than you quoted, Mike. If someone said, “there’s a chance it’ll happen,” that is very different from saying “you’ll get the chance to make it happen”. “Chance” being implied as “the opportunity” a la “the chance of a lifetime”.
If Chenbot had said “there’s a chance he/she will get to shake things up” would have been much different from “the chance to shake things up”.
Chenbot also clearly says that one of the evicted HG’s will be returning to the game, which did not happen.

sure it did - james was the evicted house guest who returned. duh.

James wasn’t an option on CBS.com, was he? Nor was James an evicted HG throughout the duration of the voting.

i think that it was wrong of big brother not to bring alex back in they gave he five names of the ones for america to vote for and james was not one of them i think somehow they should bring him back in make it right
