Week 6 in the Big Brother 9 house and things are no calmer and no smoother. Tonight picks right up where last week’s eviction and nomination episode left off. The houseguests have been lifted into the air and the must remain dangling above their disco ball the longest to emerge as the new HoH. The competition went on for over four hours and since I recapped it all live that night, play by play, I don’t think you need the entire thing rehashed. But if you do, you can get all those endurance comp details here. In the end Natalie came close but got sick and lost to James after he promised he wouldn’t nominate Matt. After James dropped down he shook hands with Matt and made a big deal about how he would keep his word unlike anyone else in the house.
Want to see how that only lasted 4 days? Read the PoV spoilers here.
Ryan has a conversation with Natalie on why in the world did she vote back in James after evicting him a few minutes earlier. Natalie said she was too confused and since none of them told her what to do she got mixed up. We then see a flashback video of her passing Joshuah in the DR hallway on her way to vote. She said to him that she didn’t know how to vote. Joshuah, of course, tells her to vote for James over the mystery guest. Like a good lemming Natalie does exactly what she’s told and voted James back in. Sigh. I’d still like to know what was BB’s plan if the votes had gone 4-4 instead of 5-3. Was Chenbot the tiebreaker?? Hmm…
For all her hard work Natalie finally gets her massage from Matt. It’s awful. He first makes the mistake of saying, “I love you.” He immediately back peddles and says, “but not like that!” The massage is awkward to watch as he doesn’t even want to have to touch her. After a few minutes of rubbing he goes for the wooden massage toy and rolls that across her back instead. This kid can’t even fake interest long enough to give a decent backrub. Poor Nat. She still tells him he’s great at it.

We get a little BB paranoia as Joshuah tries to figure out who was the 3rd vote for the mystery guest. Matt has told Joshuah he voted to bring back James, which was a lie. So Joshuah narrows it down to either Adam or Matt who is lying. For some reason Adam barely defends himself. After all that stupidity of voting back in someone he just voted out I would think he’d try to get all the credit he could. This mystery vote issue reminds me of last season when Eric was screwed by America’s Vote, week after week as he kept being the mystery vote but had to deny it. Ahh the good ol’ days of seasons with more interesting characters and behavior.
Next there’s an interesting bit on Joshuah dressing up as a housemaid and walking around with the duster. He says he likes to clean up the dust and then dump it on the HGs’ beds that he doesn’t like. What a swell guy. This immediately flows into Joshuah getting a letter from home that gets him all teary-eyed. There’s no way I can possibly care about a letter from home other than to prove to me this shallow jerk didn’t come from a lab somewhere.
The nomination ceremony is up. Ryan is convinced he’ll get nominated after a botched conversation with James where he couldn’t give any good answers on his motivation from the week before. Adam is likewise convinced he’ll be nominated because Baller has got to be the most paranoid player this season. James plops the key block down on the table and explains his nominations were motivated by all the “word breaking” that went on last week. He was betrayed by too many people that promised him safety. Key by key is pulled until we find out that Sheila and Ryan have been nominated. Just as I predicted last week after he won. These two were James’ top targets and for good reason.
