Dancing With The Stars Season 6 begins tonight with a two night season premiere. Twelve stars, 6 men and 6 women take to the ballroom this year to compete for your votes. The guys hit the dance floor tonight, Monday March 17, at 8/7c on ABC. The DWTS ladies take their turn in the ballroom on Tuesday March 18, at 9/8c.
I’m looking forward to the performances (or at least the attempts) of Carolla and Jillette out of the male stars. Neither of these guys strike me as someone that should be terribly graceful, especially Jillette as he just doesn’t look like he’s built to be a dancer. Nothing against either of them as I actually enjoy both of them a lot in their natural habitats. Their female counterparts will have a lot to work with and we have seen them come through with some real miracles so who knows, they just might pull off something impressive!
For the ladies it has to be Matlin and Elizabeth. Matlin is going to be presenting some unique situations due to her deaf condition, but from what we’ve read it shouldn’t effect her nearly as much as I initially expected. My interest in Elizabeth is purely based on her good looks. I think Julianne Hough might have some real competition for the best smile on the dance floor this season! Let’s not forget Yamaguchi either as she’s nearly a sure thing to dominate this contest. Her background in skating should provide her with a great leg up on her competitors. I think she’ll be the one to watch this season and will make Maksim wish he hadn’t bailed out.
