BB9 Houseguests

Tonight’s Big Brother 9 Power of Veto episode was pretty exciting, again. The strong players are starting to emerge and they aren’t taking any crap from anyone. Promises and alliances mean nothing, the prize money ends all. But before we get to the back stabbing, let’s get some fun stuff.

Post nomination ceremony everyone breaks away for their reactions. Matt & Natalie share hugs in the storage room where he promises her he’ll protect her as best he can. He’s really wow’d by what she did for him. She downplays it and says she’ll settle for another massage. I think Nat treats this guy way too nice! Sheila and Ryan gather in the back bedroom for a pity party where they moan and groan about their nominations.

Thankfully this moment gets interrupted by our Bible Buddies. Tonight the boys are discussing artifacts from the Bible. There’s some confusion on the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail. Thankfully these boys have watched enough Indiana Jones to know the basics. Matt suggests that if they win they should use the money to go search for the Grail. Adam points out it would take 30 or 40 million dollars to find it, not half a million. Ahh, I’ll miss these moments come Thursday.

We get a little insight into why Sheila is such a crazy mess in the house. She’s asleep in her bedroom when the other HGs decide to play a prank on her. They run in and start yelling that the PoV is right now. It’s pretty much a fire drill exercise as they all rush out back. Sheila gets up, gets on her unitard, and runs out back. They all break down laughing, including Sheila when she realizes it was a joke. I think she took this wake-up a lot better than I would have! From watching the live feeds we know that the DR told Sheila she could stop wearing the unitard after that event, so it went well for everyone.

PoV Competition
Tonight’s PoV comp included: James, Ryan, Sheila, Chelsia, Matt, & Joshuah. The backyard was transformed into a huge hamster cage. The challenge was to carry those little children’s letter blocks across balance beams and fill a huge cylinder with the contents. First to fill the tube would win the PoV. If they fall or drop any of the blocks they would be disqualified. Wow, this one looks tough but is very cool. Well done, Big Brother.

Matt is the first one to fall. Ryan isn’t far behind him. Ryan is upset because he knows he missed his chance to take away the next four days of nomination stress. Sheila is doing great until she drops a block and is disqualified. Next player out is Chelsia who for some reason started just running and went right off the end of the rail. That left only Joshuah and James. No exciting conclusion to this one. James simply moved the fastest and filled his tube first to won the PoV.

Time to start campaigning. Sheila goes first as she talks to Nat about how she’ll vote. Nat tells her she’ll have to think about it. Apparently these were the wrong words to use with Sheila. She gets very upset and starts bitching. She can’t understand why Natalie wouldn’t have her back after “everything she’s done for her.” I don’t think Sheila has done as much as she thinks she’s done in this house. Sheila goes back to talk to Adam. He tries to remind her that the PoV ceremony isn’t even over yet, so don’t start freaking out already. Sheila gets even more freaked out though and heads upstairs to talk to HoH James. She bends his ear just like she did to Ryan last week. Amazingly James is onboard to rescue Sheila and put up Adam because he thinks that’s who was the 3rd mystery vote.

Things go back and forth on what James wants to do, but once he talks to Sharon it’s solidified. Sharon assures James that it was Matt who was the third vote because of the pathetic attempt at lying that Nat did earlier in the episode. With this information in hand James decides it’s all he needs to betray his promise to Nat and nominates Matt.

PoV Ceremony
Both Sheila and Ryan plead their case. They each want to stay and keep playing the game. Sigh. It’s really time to get rid of this segment as the PoV holder always knows what he or she is going to do at this point already. Sure enough, James says he is going to use the PoV to save Sheila. In her place he nominates Matt.

Wednesday night either Ryan or Matt will be evicted. Who do you think it will be? See what others think in our Big Brother 9 Forum. Warning: Wednesday’s eviction episode will air at 9/8c instead of the usual 8/7c timeslot for that night. If you tune in early you’ll get Survivor until 9pm.
