Those Wachowski brothers might just be the weirdest thing this side of, um, anything, but I sure did love The Matrix series. I’ve got zero interest in their “Speed Racer” film coming out this summer though and it’s got nothing to do with them. I never could watch more than 5 seconds of that cartoon before changing the channel. The martial arts work from the W brothers was much more my thing, so I’m excited to hear they’ll be reuniting with Collin Chou who played Seraph in the second and third Matrix installments. MTV News reports on a new rumor they’re starting:
Taiwanese action star Collin Chou, best known in the U.S. for playing Seraph in “Matrix Revolutions” and “Matrix “Reloaded,” revealed to MTV News that he has signed on to a top-secret project the trippy filmmakers hope to begin after “Speed Racer.”
The inclusion of Chou, a veteran of more than thirty martial arts films, would seem to indicate that the Wachowskis are hoping to get back to the stylized fighting and wire work that made “Matrix” a powerhouse sci-fi series. Chou insisted that he wasn’t allowed to reveal any further details, but keep checking in as we’ll bring you more in the months to come.
Chou was awesome in his role and made me very glad that Li turned down the opportunity. I’m anxious to hear what their next project will be.
