Big Brother 9 returns tonight with another promising live eviction and HoH competition. The show starts out with Matt trying to make sense of his nomination by James, despite his agreement with Natalie. James explains to use in the DR that since Matt lied to him about voting against his return James feels this justifies breaking the agreement. I think his logic is weak, but it makes for good TV. Matt tries to talk to James about it but starts to cry. Looks like Matt is more emotional than he led us to believe this season. He walks around the house for awhile trying to talk himself out of the tears. On the feeds we saw him crying on and off for quite some time. That’s alright, I’d cry over a $500,000 too!

Matt gets Adam’s vote promised to him and he knows he’s got Natalie’s vote, so he goes to work on the ladies. Chelsia smiles to his face then bashes him in the DR. He won’t be getting her vote. Matt tries with Sharon next, but the results are similar. Things don’t look good for Matt. Eventually he gets around to Sheila and reminds her how Ryan took her money and nominate their friends. Sheila starts to think Matt might be making some sense here. She goes up and talks to James and is really campaigning to save Matt. James isn’t having anything to do with this talk and sits there stone faced. He’s a smart player.

Julie jumps to the living room and reveals to the HGs that last week Alex would have come back as the mystery guest. She then asks for a show of hands and four of them say they’d have voted back Alex if they had known it was him. Julie points out that would have been a tie (4 for Alex, 4 for James). Um, yes, and I can’t at all recall them ever saying how they’d break a tie. I’m guessing Grodner would have come out and made the decision.

A little more fun tonight as we get a “where are they now” with Dick and Daniele. Dick is doing his usual name dropping as he goes on and on about the folks he’s going to meet. He’s really enjoying his newly added fame. Daniele shows off her new red car that her dad bought her. That was pretty nice of him! Daniele also admits that she is not still dating Nick. Bonus! Dick will be back next Tuesday to give the HGs “a wakeup call they’ll never forget!” Woohoo! I can’t wait.

Matt has been evicted from the Big Brother house.

Out on the couch Matt gets a little teary eyed and points out “the wrong man was convicted.” He makes a good point on how it was Ryan that betrayed James last week, yet James voted to keep Ryan this week. It is odd. Matt closes out the conversation in an overly dramatic statement, “the dream is over.” I suspect Matt was one of those people who thought he was the only player that mattered and the rest of the HGs were just there to drop like flies until he had the half million. Nice guy though.

HoH Competition:
Tonight’s competition is “En Garde”. It’s a duel style game where they’ll face off in pairs. The winners pick the next two competitors while the loser is eliminated. Last man/woman standing is the new HoH.

Joshuah & Chelsia duel first: Joshuah guesses wrong and is eliminated.
Natalie & Shelia duel second: Natalie guesses correctly, Sheila is eliminated.
Chelsia & Sharon duel: Chelsia guesses correctly, Sharon is eliminated
