90210 cast

I’ve never watched more than 5 seconds of “90210″ ever, but my wife will still sit and stare at reruns with glazed eyes. I imagine there may be more like her out there, so you might be interested in hearing the initial details on the pending remake of the 90’s series. The CW is planning to pick up the franchise and run it into the ground, but it sounds like they’ll be doing it without the help of anyone from the past cast. Entertainment Weekly cares enough to share:

Judging by the casting-search and character breakdowns revealed, it doesn’t look like any of the characters from the original show will be back, although there are a brother and sister with the last name Silver, so they could be related to Brian Austin Green’s David Silver from the old show. (The Silver girl is Jewish and media-savvy — she has her own YouTube show — is she the new Andrea?)

The CW series will, like the original, center on a family (named Mills, not Walsh) with two teen siblings, a girl and a guy; only this time, the guy is more like bad-boy Dylan than wholesome Brandon, and he’s also adopted — and probably African-American.

My biggest concern is whether or not they’ll be casting 40 year olds to play the part of 18 year olds. If they’re not I just don’t know how it could possibly work out again.

Looks like someone cropped out the grandmother from the header image. Hey! Luke Perry is wearing the same shirt as me. Good to know I’ve still got it!
