It was bound to happen. After fans of the series “Jericho” successfully lobbied for its return after a sudden cancellation the series has been officially axed, again. CBS Entertainment’s president, Nina Tassler, released this statement today:
“The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale. Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high quality second season. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try. We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We’re proud of everyone’s efforts.
The March 25th broadcast is the seventh episode, completing the seven-episode order for the 2007/2008 season.”
So long show I never watched but heard lots about!

Jericho is a great series that did not get enough credit. It should be produced again for MORE than 7 episodes. It was suspenseful, emotional, and well written. CBS also changed what day and when it would get aired that unless you knew ahead or had programmed dvr you would miss it.
Though I do watch many shows on CBS…NCIS, CSI (all), Ghost Writer, Numbers, Moonlight.and until cancelled The UNIT, Jericho. Why do the stations take off GOOD shows and give us worthless ones.
Stop relying on Neilson Ratings - they are not using regular real people! Or if they do let a normal household rate for a time they stop them if they don’t rate the way the Neilson bigshots want. I rated for maybe two months then they stopped sending me anything. I strongly believe it was because I liked shows they wanted off the air!!!!

Unfortunately, many times shows are canceled due to costs. So those great shows you enjoy might be good because of the expensive writers and expensive cast. Meanwhile, the crappy shows are cheap to produce and make more of a profit with their advertising sales.
It’s all about the bottom dollar for the networks.
