Two of our Dancing With The Stars couples were sent home this evening in the first Double Elimination Night in DWTS history. Two couples, one male star and one female star, will be sent home based on the combined scores and votes from this week’s and last week’s performances. As you may have guessed, I really like Dancing With The Stars. At the same time I hate watching the Results shows live. Its tough to stretch the announcement of two couples out for an entire hour. I much prefer to watch it on Tivo and then I can fast forward to the couple that gets the boot. No such luck tonight both of my DVR channels are already recording away.
The night started out with Len announcing this week’s Judge’s Encore: Jason & Edyta’s Mambo
That was a good choice. I liked their performance and you can’t give Kristy & Mark the encore every week.
I usually don’t cover the “filler” entertainment but I will mention that tonight the Jonas Brothers performed Take Me On. You probably have never heard of the Jonas Brothers unless you have children under the age of 14. They are perennial favorite with the Disney-aged children. They are part of the whole Hannah Montana/High School Musical crowd. You constantly hear their music on the Disney Channel and Radio Disney. In other words, their music can always be heard in my household.
They announced the male star to be eliminated first. Here are the couples who will be back next week in the order they were announced:
- Steve & Anna
- Jason & Edyta
- Mario & Karina
- Adam & Julianne (How shocking was that?)
- Christiane & Cheryl
That means Penn & Kym are going home. I can’t believe Adam & Julianne did not get sent home. My guess is that it has more to do with Julianne’s popularity than Adam’s. My guess is that not too many of the Man Show fans watch Dancing With The Stars. Outside of DWTS I really enjoy Penn Jillette so I will be sorry to see him leave. I’m also going to miss Kym Johnson. She is one of my favorite pros. I hate to see her go so early especially because she has gotten stuck with some real tough stars over the years.

- Marlee & Fabian
- Kristy & Mark
- Priscilla & Louis
- Marisa & Tony
I don’t believe anyone is surprised by this result. Monica may be a great athlete but she just can’t dance. The judges and America definitely made the right choice.

truly believe that this was the right decision. hard to watch Penn, Kym & Monica dance across the dance floor. I am however sad to see Jonathan will no longer grace his presence as he is truly a very good dancer.
