We have a winner! Again, “21″ took home the honor of top place in the box office movie earnings for the second week in a row with $15.1 million. I’m really surprised by George Clooney’s “Leatherheads” as it just barely got second place with $13.5 million, head of third place’s “Nim’s Island” at $13.3 million. Both of those did much lower than I expected. I avoided “Leatherheads” because Renee Zellweger turns me off of movies faster than Uwe Boll, which is a shame because it might have been decent. “Nim’s” was a family movie, and those usually do really well, but it was probably hurt by the continued earnings of “Horton Hears a Who!”, another family friendly film. Horror thriller “The Ruins”, the other new film this weekend, didn’t fare much better as it earned just $7.8 million.
Did any of these draw $10 out of your wallet this weekend?
