Instead of the normal Wednesday night American Idol results show, FOX will be showing the live Idol Gives Back charity show. The Idol Gives back special uses American Idol’s ability to capture America’s hearts and the power of entertainment to benefit some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world.
The Idol Gives Back Foundation is a new not-for-profit organization created by the producers of American Idol and FOX to raise money and awareness for children and families living in poverty and at risk in the U.S. and around the world.
Last year’s Idol Gives Back raised $76 million for charity. The AI producers obviously hope to do even better this year. Here is a list of some of the stars who are scheduled to appear on tonight’s show:

- Chris Daughtry
- Celine Dion
- Fergie
- John Legend
- Annie Lennox
- Eli Manning
- Peyton Manning

- Brad Pitt
- Snoop Dogg
- Kiefer Sutherland
- Carrie Underwood
- Robin Williams
- Reese Witherspoon
Idol Gives Back will air on FOX tonight starting at 7:30 PM. This week’s American Idol results show will be on Thursday night instead, at 8/7c.

I hope the celebs do more than contribute 2 secs of appearance in a montage video. I remember being so impressed that all those celebs were going to be on the show only to have Idol run through nearly the entire list of names in a 3 minute video.

Hopefully it will be okay to blink! Long show, alot of stars; hope it will be about giving and entertainment and not overloaded with filler and pipmage.
